Triggers on Receipt of Transaction

Is there a way to create "triggers" or hooks for certain events on the Multichain? Let's say when a transaction is received, a certain program will fire or a certain URL will be called.

Yes, alpha 28 added a rich mechanism for this. See the walletnotify runtime parameter:
