Can you please let me know which version of multichain can be compiled on Mac so that I can download it from git.

To compile for Mac, we recommend sticking to MultiChain 1.0.x for now:

https://github.com/MultiChain/multichain/tree/1.0.x-release

Look out for Mac compilation instructions for MultiChain 2.0 shortly. We're working on it...
