Can you use decimal amounts of an asset?

When I have tried to issue decimal amounts do an asset (such as 1.5), I have found that I am not able to. Is it possible to do that, or must I say each asset is actually a fraction, so 15 would be 1.5?

Yes, you can certainly do that. When you issue an asset, one of the parameters is the units for divisibility. This can be 0.1 or 0.01, etc...
