By the way, are you planning to implement segwit, or make segwit optional?

I have heard you can create cross-blockchain atomic exchanges with lightning network.

We don't have any immediate plans to support SegWit, because it's a solution to a scaling problem that doesn't really exist in permissioned blockchains. Cross-chain atomic exchanges are an active issue under discussion, but they're possible to achieve without SegWit with some expanded rules on output spending.

About atomic exchanges concept, example we can use Bitcoin blockchain to make transaction and record it on Multichain (e.g sidechain) without a need to do offchain scripting ?
