Read only view of a blockchain

In one of your blogs "moving-on-from-big-blockchains", it has been mentioned that read only view of a blockchain can be granted to an auditor, how can we do that?

The auditor runs a regular multichaind node, but is granted connect permission only. This lets them see everything on the chain but not receive or send assets.
