what does sign inputs of transactions mean ?

in multichain tutorial i saw :  send – to send funds, i.e. sign inputs of transactions

but i dont know what do they mean by "sign inputs of transactions", can you give me an example to understand that. and how/when this sigature is done ? how to verify it ? and how to see it ??

In order to understand this, you should read about the input–output model of transactions in a general sense. Explanations of this model in bitcoin are a good place to start:
