About reindex option.

In what case do I need "reindex"?

Sometimes this happens when I re-run the Multichain daemon again.

Does the daemon fail to shutdown normally?

The reindexing should only happen if you explicitly tell MultiChain to do so with the reindex runtime parameter. What makes you think this is happening in your case?
