Beginners mining setup

Question

I am using this as part of a university project and i have my nodes fully functioning.

With regards for the mining element how or what program do i use to have a 3rd machine mining on my blockchain?

The "mining" takes place within MultiChain itself, and if you're using the default settings, it is not based on proof-of-work but rather block signatures. So you just need to run another node on that 3rd machine, and grant mining permissions to one of its addresses.
