Is there a way to go from createmultisig to addmultisig?

I have created a mutisig address 2 of 2 with the createmultisig command and I want the balance to appear in my wallet, would it be possible?

Maybe importing the 2 private keys

Yes, you would need to import the underlying private keys, and then use addmultisig as usual.
