Hey folks,

Following instructions on startup. Entered

root@dave:/var/www/multichain-1.0-alpha-17# multichaind chain1 -daemon

MultiChain Core Daemon build 1.0 alpha 17 protocol 10004

MultiChain server starting

root@dave:/var/www/multichain-1.0-alpha-17# Error: Initialization sanity check failed. MultiChain Core is shutting down.

Weirdly, it gave me the error response (i tried it four times, same thing happened) at the end of the cli just like i copied it here. Is there something simple I'm overlooking? I can't seem to find this as a common problem anywhere.

Ouch - never seen this before. I will point the dev team to this and get back to you shortly.

What distribution and version of Linux are you running on? This looks like a glibc problem.

Upgraded to Debian 7.9. Problem solved. Thanks guys.
I'm running debian 6.0.10

GNU C Library (Debian EGLIBC 2.11.3-4) stable release version 2.11.3, by Roland McGrath et al.
I took the error as a good excuse to upgrade my server. I'll try it again once it comes out the other end. Will advise.
Great - thanks for the update!
