Data size for streams

+1 vote
Hi Multichain Team,

How much data size streams can handle? Can it handle millions of records (which means giga bytes of data) like a database can?

Thanks.

In the latest version of MultiChain, the maximum size of a stream item is 64 MB (if you set the blockchain parameters accordingly). There's no problem with many gigabytes of data - the node's internal indexes for a stream only store pointers to the items in the blockchain, fi they're more than 256 bytes in size.
