How much blockchains can we create?

How many blockchains can be created on multichains? If a company is offering multi-chain based product to other companies? Will that company be able to see their data? If not the how we can do that? Thanks

we are struggling at a point,

can two or more different Multichains, interact with each other,

Chain one is ABC and having multiple instances

Second chain DEF having multiple instances,

Third GHI is also having multiple nodes

All have a different business nature,

ABC is a financial asset platform,

DEF is more towards the Supply chain

GHI is using more services towards hashing off-chain documents and storing the hash on the chain,

can these three interact in terms of asset transfer and metadata messages, with each other and scale up the network

Running Multiple Multichain Instances

I'm working on a project where we want to use Multichain to allow groups of users to interact with each other. Since the number of users of the system is quite large, and any given user may be part of multiple groups, we would like to use Multichain to create separate chains for each of these groups. The chains are intended to act as an auditable history of the actions taken by the members of the each group.

Given this situation, we will need to be able to run a bunch of Multichains at the name time. Since multichaind only controls a single blockchain, this means multiple instances of multichaind have to be running. This will be resource intensive and puts a hard limit on the number of chains we can run.

Is there a recommended solution for running large numbers of chains? We are looking at, in certain cases, having thousands of chains running on a machine.

I know that if you use the datadir option and a different JSON-RPC port and peer-to-peer port for each node you can run multiple nodes on a single machine. Is there a recommended limit to the number of nodes one can or should run on a single machine before the performance starts to degrade? I can appreciate that this may be subjective because it is likely based on the specs of the machine and various other factors, but I'm wondering if you guys have tested this at all. Thanks!

Same address for per-order blockchain

In one of your blogs "moving-on-from-big-blockchains", it has been mentioned that you can use the same address for per-order blockchain? How do I do that? Because everytime I create a new chain, it creates a new set of parameters, new port numbers(both blockchain and rpc), new passwords for rpc connection?

how does mining happen in Multichain when private blockchain network is used

I have already read "Avoiding the pointless blockchain project" , and i want to use private blockchain network as a shared ledger kind of thing.

Use case i have is, different users(registers into block chain and then) participate and exchange info related different parties. transactions in this block chain would be exchange of info between parties of a user. So once i send a transaction to blockchain network, who actually mines these transactions? does this automatically happen in multichain?

I am a new bee into block chain domain, please help me understand this.

Can I run multiple nodes on one server connecting to the same chain (using different users)

Hi

I tried setting up two nodes on the same server, using two different usernames. So using terminal, I logged into the different users and try to connect to eachother.

I issued different port numbers for port and rpcport. Both nodes start, using different terminals/users.

On one user (initial user) the cli allows me to query through getinfo. The other gives an error:

{"method":"getinfo","params":[],"id":1,"chain_name":"chain1"}

error: incorrect rpcuser or rpcpassword (authorization failed)

The password of the rpcuser in ~/.multichain/chain1$ more multichain.conf is different for both users, which is ok?

Anyway. Just needed thumbs up if it is possible to use only server to test multiple nodes. Or is the IP address some sort of unique key?

(tried google on your site, but couldnt find the answer)

Multiple Blockchains - common public-key-hash

Hi, in your whitepaper you have mentioned the creation of multiple Blockchains. But in the current model though they share a common node, all them will have a different public-key-hash.

can you share your thoughts on this:

- should they have different public-key-hash'es though they are on the same node?

- since each BC is in a self-encapsulated directory does this break the design

- is this a feature for a future version and is in the roadmap

Can i run multiple chains on the same server - i.e multiple multichaind daemons on one box?
