Hi,

My node has been reindexing for 3 weeks. Right now it has synchronized/checked 5kk out of 8kk blocks.

Mempool is very high, around 1.1k. My question is, what's the best way to handle this situation and what will happen if I restart multichain service during reindex process?

I'm not concerned about losing mempool since I can replicate the value(docs hash) of transactions. My primary goal is to get the node running correctly asap. Unfortunately, I do not have backup/snapshot of the node.

I’m currently running a Multichain node and would like to back up all relevant data so I can restore it on a different server (e.g., for migration or redundancy purposes). I want to make sure I’m preserving the chain data, wallet, permissions, and configurations.

Could someone please clarify:

What is the correct process to back up a full Multichain node?
Which directories/files specifically need to be copied?
What are the steps to restore the node on a new server and ensure it reconnects to the same chain and retains all permissions?

Docker issue connecting to genesis node

docker images are able to ping and netcat displays the necessary port on genesis image as open..

We have Multichain network consisting of over 30 nodes. We are using multichain in version 2.3.3.

I plan to compile the project in the multichain1.x version of github, but it provides Linux Build Notes (on Ubuntu 14.04 x64) system and architecture dependency installation, as follows

I'm encountering an unexpected issue while attempting to establish a connection to a Multichain node. Despite following the recommended steps from the documentation, I keep encountering the following error message:

Error: Unable to connect to node: Connection refused

Here's a brief overview of my setup:

Multichain Version: 2.0.3
Operating System:Ubuntu Linux 20.04
Steps Taken:
- Installed Multichain using [Installation Method]
- Created a new chain named "[Chain Name]"
- Launched the node using the command: multichaind [Chain Name] -daemon

My Multichain configuration file ([config-file.conf]) appears to be correctly set up with the necessary parameters. I've also ensured that any firewall or network restrictions are not causing this issue.

Could someone please provide guidance on how to troubleshoot and resolve this connection error? Are there any specific log files I should examine for more detailed error messages? I'm eager to continue exploring the capabilities of Multichain, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Multichain with 1 node and wallet inserting data currently. I get the following error:

error code: -26

error message:

Error: this transaction was rejected. This may be because you are sharing private keys between nodes, and another node has spent the funds used by this transaction.

How can fix this error? I have a lot of data stored so ideally I do not have start a new chain and reinsert data again.

Hello:

I am rather new to this software. I made some progress, I can setup dual nodes in Linux and issue some tokens.

Now, I want go one step further, the details:

On node1, create chain1, and create token called DollarETH1 for 200 units; on node2, create chain2, and create token called DollarETH2 for 200 units.

Then I will send 100 DollarETH1 from node1 to node2 in node2’s address, then I will send 100 DollarETH2 from node2 to node1. Thus simulate multi-chain wallet to send and receive tokens, like: send USDT to and from ERC20/BEP20 networks.

I think I can do this by hand.

But I would like you provide some ideas on how to do this by API, like JavaScript or Python on Linux.

I want to know how to select different network via API.

However, after some time, if I am familiar those steps by API, then I want to go live, but then I can only use Windows 10.

I want to know how can I put the multi-chain wallet address under control of multi-chain in Windows 10.

Let’s say if I can create 2 addresses by third party software, I get their private keys. For one address, I want to be able to send and receive tokens via ERC20 and BEP20 network, as their address format is almost the same; I want to have another address can receive and send tokens via HECO network.

Please advice if it is possible via mutlichain, if possible, please give a general idea on how to proceed.

listreamqueryitems not returning values

when i search for a specific key on a stream using liststreamqueryitems i do not get returned any values (there are no error messages just an empty list). However when i use liststreamkeyitems i do get a return. i need to use liststreamqueryitems as i am querying with multiple keys. i do not think the issue is my query as when i replace the specific key with another key it works fine.

to illustrate the problem i am searching for:

liststreamqueryitems chrom_5 '{"keys":["10059", "('0|1', '1|0')"]}'

when i search for:

liststreamkeyitems chrom_5 "('0|1', '1|0')"

it works fine.

Any idea what is going on?

I've been able to set up a stream and publish data using the CLI and MC web-demo. I've also been able to view the data using MC Explorer-2.

I want to take it a step further and query the published data using some key/value from any of the key-value pairs. Is there a simple way to do that without resorting to MC Enterprise and an external database?

Here is a sample JSON data I have in MC Web-Demo.

I have reviewed the multichain whitepaper and it has mentioned that it currently does not support proof of stake, but in the future it might.
So do we have that support available right now?
Because I wanted to develop a blockchain using multi-chain which has proof of stake implementation.
If this type of support is not available, is there a way to modify the existing implementation and make it proof of stake? If yes, then how?
Also, I wanted to know how it is possible to have 0 gas fee for all transactions on my blockchain.

Hi, when I try to connect a slave node to the master node (with Windows 10), the slave node process receives the signal SIGSEGV and exits. On Mac, this setup works without problems.

I started the mutlichain slave node as child process with this command in NodeJS:

I am running a multichain-based web application which is storing the content in the form of transactions as an append-only ledger. I know that my blockchain is private and only permitted nodes can generate new transactions. What if a permitted node generates malicious content and pushes it onto the blockchain or tries to change a transaction's data that has become part of a block. Obviously, the blockchain will not stop him/her to do it. So, here are my two main questions:

1. How to monitor the data mutability of multichain. Assume that we know hash pointers, previous block hash, etc.

2. How multichain can revoke the publishing of malicious content onto it

Hello Team,

I'm looking for the solution to get data from the stream based on some custom filters.

Since I have a transaction stream where I save the details of each wallet transfer along with some metadata.

Here I am using transaction hex as key in the stream.

Following information I'm storing into transaction metadata:
1) user-email
2) transaction type (credit/debit)
3) amount
4) timestamp

Now when I use the liststreamitems command it will return all available transactions from the stream.

I want some custom filters to fetch data based on specific user email or if metadata contains a transaction type of "Credit / Debit" only then the transaction should return from the stream.

So is there any way to apply such criteria when getting records from the stream?

I have created a blockchain on NODE -A and connected a new NODE - B on it.
A new address (ADDRESS-1) is created on NODE-B with the permission (connect, send, receive, mine, create, issue) by "getnewaddress" API
When doing a transaction, sending an asset from the admin address to ADDRESS-1 on NODE -B by 'createrawsendfrom' API, getting the following error.
But doing the same transaction on NODE - A, no issue is raising.
The new address is either from NODE- A NODE - B, then sending asset to an ADDRESS is not happening though there is permission.

Connect to the multichain

Hi I have a front end application to manage assets. And have a separate digital ocean machine to handle the multichain. Have tried to connect the front end application from local and which points to digital ocean machine.

Have added the param rpcallowip=192.168.0.7 in the multichain.conf file and restarted the blockchain. But not able to connect from the local machine through the front-end application. but when I added the param as

rpcallowip=0.0.0.0/0 am able to connect. can you please help me to fix this?

I have created a blockchain and did some asset transactions between the addresses, and added a node to the blockchain. Then tried to do the transaction on the new node ( The connected one), I got the following response.

Did I miss anything on the permission side or have to pass any command to import the address to the new node?

The response is as below

I just created a blockchain on Multichnain 2.0 in the local machine. I wanted to check the API calls through postman from the local machine.

Do I have to update the config file? with rpchost like we do on Multichnain 1.0

Using public key to get reading access

I want to build up a demo service with multichain enterprise demo where party A with knot A puts data into a stream. A second party B wants to read this data.

My intention was to make party A send the public key for this this stream to party B so party B can get reading access. At "Getting Startet" it is discribed that party A always has to grant access via "grant 1... stream2.read". Is it possible to skip this step by using the public key? For my use case this a big problem.

In short a little overview:

1) Party A puts data into Stream.

2) Party A takes public key of the stream and sends it to party B (via mail or another service)

3) Party B uses the public key to decode the data on the stream and read it. This way party A does not have to grant reading access by using "grant 1... stream2.read"

Hi,

I'm new to MultiChain and want to use it to store Data (pdf) and make it accessable for people outside of the Blockchain itself.

Even though I already read questions and answers about the topic of uploading pdf and storing them in Multichain, I still don't know how to do it. I've got two knots. Is there a detailled instruction on how to store mulitple pdfs?

Moreover, I want a third computer to be able to download these pdfs when the right key is given. Is there a given way on how to create a client for a computer to interact with the Blockchain without becoming a knot itself?

I really love the Multichain web demo interface for its ease of use.

I was able to create a token, issue it to a few addresses, etc.

However, I encountered two issues:

1. It seems like anyone who goes to the URL can send themselves as many tokens from the administrator's account. How do you prevent that?

2. When #1 is done, I also noticed that when you keep hitting the F5 key to refresh the screen, the same amount of tokens keep being added to the receiver's account.

For example, I send 1000 tokens to someone's account. They now have 1000 tokens. If I press F5 to refresh the page, they now have 2000 tokens. Press F5 a third time, now they have 3000 tokens and so on.

How can I stop that from happening?

VM won't connect to multichain on another VM

I followed the get started tutoial and set up my own blockchain on an Azure linux VM, I set up another VM and when I ran the multichaind mychain@IP:Port command it gives this

Error : can not connect to mychain@IP:Port make sure Multichain is unning on port.

my first vm's ip adress is : 20.188.57.6, my second's IP is 20.188.59.71. But the IP they give me to connect with is different from the public one.

Another question is : do all of my nodes have to be in the same network as my root node or I can connect from other networks?

I have a simple question.

If a client wants to pay me to set up a Multichain node and "mint" tokens on Multichain that he can sell to investors that is backed by physical assets (such as real estate)...

...can I do this with the FREE version of Multichain or will I have to upgrade to the Enterprise or Commercial version?

Keep in mind the client will be PAYING ME to set this up for him. He will market the tokens himself; he just needs a "blockchain developer" to set up the Multichain on a VPS and mint the tokens according to his specifications.
