To what extent can forks in MultiChain become dangerous?

Unfortunately I do not yet understand exactly how forks in MultiChain can become dangerous for the network.

Thank you!

How to safely fork a chain

Hi Multichain folks,

Let's say that 2 groups of entities start on one chain. And as the chain grows, they decide that they want to fork the chain into 2.

What is blockchain params should be set at chain creation and what would the 2 groups need to do to safely fork the chain?

Partial local and partial online network

Hi,

I have the following requirements for a system, and an idea of how to implement this with MultiChain. But i'm unsure if this will work as expected.

- I have a local system of nodes. Those nodes are being used to handle payment transactions. Those nodes are connected to each other most of the time. (some failure can of course always happen). But connection to the internet is not stable.

- I have a few nodes in the cloud. Those nodes will be used to handle a few transactions (assume only 5% of the total transactions) and are used for monitoring and analytics of all other transactions.

How should mining work in this case? Of course i want the transaction reliability to be as high as possible. Is it wise to mine on the local and online network? or may this result in two forks that could cause a problem?

How do i set up syncing between the local pool and the online pool?

MultiChain as a Bitcoin fork

Hi

I have learned that MultiChain is a fork of Bitcoin Core.

But since that fork was done (in early 2015?), how do you then benefit from subsequent improvements to Bitcoin Core, e.g. bug fixes and new features? Do you "listen for changes" to Bitcoin Core and then manually carry them over into your own MultiChain fork, or...?

Thanks!

Fork Situation in MutliChain

Hi,

I know a fork situation occurs when both miner tried to mine a block at the same time in the blockchain, and it will be resolve by the next block. The block begin added to that branch will be the main multichain, the other branch will be removed?

I understand that bitcoin blockchain fork will always wait for 6 completed block before it is discarded. How about MultiChain, will it discard the branch by the next block or after 6 completed block?

Thank You
