Invalid Raw Transaction causes node to crash

Guys, we stumbled across this today......
We did a PoC to demo some asset management features using multichain and accidentally sent this transaction to a node:

{
  "method": "createrawtransaction",
  "params": [
    [
      {
        "txid": "92d004917ffc47a1762e24e42a01c3b29dc5b81020d9d3176e31eec4c4f69fdc",
        "vout": 1,
        "script": "76a914a9eb9007674cdc615bb559f41b8a28d06a1a542d88ac1c73706b71cdee50c23089b92b2d5f9f50474fbe5a200300000000000075",
        "address": "1GVTPbc3sLdQcNtNZhTpNcC2Tefn2QoYp9",
        "pubkeys": [
          "037333dc34152daf541506c4e54271988ce7aa362146e0ea4d28abffae7d1fd4ba"
        ]
      }
    ],
    {
      "": {
        "ART": 5
      },
      "1GVTPbc3sLdQcNtNZhTpNcC2Tefn2QoYp9": {
        "ART": 795
      }
    },
    []
  ],
  "id": 1,
  "chain_name": "poc-chain"
}

Notice the missing address in the first output. This causes the node to crash.....it's unresponsive at this point and needs to be restarted.

We are using multichain 1.0.2 on ubuntu.

Cheers

Crashing nodes, Missing Balances

Hi,

There is node on my 4-nodes blockchain, i will call it nodeA. Yesterday, I rebooted my VMs and the multichain on nodeA started misbehaving by seemingly shutting down itself (even after starting it, confirming it can see other nodes) after less than minute, i can't reach it anymore via the multichain-cli.

So i deleted that blockchain folder on nodeA and reconnected it to other nodes (effectively recreating everything). The confusing thing now is, using gettotalbalances on all the other nodes gives me an empty json, despite the fact that i had transferred some "gold" asset to them (from nodeA) some days before. I can also see the "gold" asset through listassets on all the nodes but none of them that the asset was previously transferred to from nodeA has the asset in their balance.

What is the reason for this?

On a side note (maybe it is relevant to why it was crashing), what i observed with nodeA after the VMs reboot, was that it notices the other network connections on that VM (minus the primary one it uses) and gave them as option should other nodes want to connect to it.

Thanks.

R.

Node not starting

Hi,

I had a multichain setup with 4 nodes, 2 of my nodes have gone down after 2 days. Now when I try to restart these nodes, I get an error like below at both nodes:-

"ERROR: Couldn't initialize permission database for blockchain <chain-name>. Probably multichaind for this blockchain is already running. Exiting...".

But no multichain process is running at any of the nodes.

I am using alpha 19 version of multichain, can you please help?

Thanks.

For my block chain, blocks are not mining at all, stuck at 0. restarted the chain few times but nothing happening, does that mean node is corrupted? can anything be done to fix it?

Thanks

Peer connections lost after node crash

We were running test with inserting large number of assets which caused our node to crash. After node restart peer connection is lost? Is there a way to renew peer connection?

How to check why my node is crashing?

While we were inserting large number of assets in node, it crashed for some reason, but we were unable to find error message in debug.log. Is there a fool-proof way to find out why that happened?

Link to debug.log:

bit.ly/1S20VKP

Nodes crashing

Why are our nodes crashing after inserting large number of assets in them? It starts up with a delay, after around 2 000 assets inserted in a node, each new asset is added more slowly, until either node crashes or we stop inserting assets because it takes around 500+ms per asset. However, if we restart adding assets, they are added slowly, like it continues where we left off. Have you faced the same problem, and do you have recommendation for dealing with this?
