Not able to connect to the seed node

+2 votes
I just recently started using MultiChain and after several hours of learning how to use it, I asked a friend to connect to my chain from his home.

We cannot manage to make it work even with both firewalls down and antivirus down as well.

We are both running on windows.

I tried to change the IP address provided by the multichain command to my public one found on https://www.whatismyip.com/ but it did not work.

Also it seems the port chosen for the chain is open as it is listed as a TCP port and Listening when I run netstat -a on a command window.

Any help is welcome.

The issue is most likely that your node is behind an Internet router, so incoming connections don't come directly to your computer. If so the solution is to configure port forwarding on your router.
